Profhilo®
Profhilo® is an injectable treatment that contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA) available in aesthetic treatments. HA is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin, playing an important role in hydration, healing, and cell communication. Its key property is the ability to attract and hold large amounts of water, giving the skin a plumper, healthier appearance. Rather than being classed as a dermal filler or skin booster, Profhilo® is considered a bioremodelling treatment, as it stimulates skin quality and structure without adding volume.
Profhilo® is an advanced anti-ageing treatment that improves skin hydration, firmness, and elasticity. It contains the highest concentrations of both low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which work together to stimulate collagen and elastin while providing structural support. Unlike most HA-based products that use chemical cross-linking agents, Profhilo® is thermally stabilised. This process changes the way the HA behaves, allowing it to last longer in the skin while keeping the product pure and free of added chemicals. The HA stays in the skin for around 28 days, gradually boosting collagen production for longer-lasting results.

Frequently Asked Questions
A numbing cream such as LMX4® or Emla™ is usually applied and left on the skin for 20–30 minutes before treatment. Profhilo® is usually injected using a fine needle and you may feel some stinging or burning during the injections; however, most of our clients find this procedure fairly comfortable. The treatment usually last between 20 – 30 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated. It is normal to experience mild tenderness and swelling in the treated areas which usually resolves within days.
With Profhilo®, you may notice enhanced skin hydration and glow, firmer, tigher and more elastic skin, smoother texture and tone, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and healther, more youthful looking skin.
Profhilo® is very safe for skin of colour when done correctly, by the right practitioner, at the right time and with the right skin preparation.
Skin changes on skin of colour appear differently when Profhilo® is performed. Specialist training is required to identify these differences in skin of colour so they can be identified. Our clinic specialises in monitoring these changes, tailoring the treatment to the skin tone and type as well as managing complications that are more likely to occur in skin of colour.
Profhilo® is a bioremodelling treatment which improves skin quality, texture and elasticity over time. Most clients notice improvements within a few days, though full results may take up to 4 weeks after a second session. The skin should appear more hydrated, firmer, smoother, and youthful. Visible results can sometimes take up to two months from the first treatment.
This treatment is not permanent, and the effects of Profhilo® do eventually wear off, but it can be repeated to maintain your results every 3 months. Results usually last up to 6 months it may be longer or shorter depending on your genetics, metabolism and lifestyle.
Generally, we recommend at least 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart to ensure optimal results. Most treatments require at least 2 to 3 sessions to see any visible improvement. The normal skin cycle (i.e. the time it takes for old skin cells to be replaced by new skin cells) is between 4 and 6 weeks. The older we get, the longer it takes for skin cells to be replaced. Most skin treatments need at least 2 skin cycles for any improvement to be visible.
Our Profhilo® treatments start at £250 per area. Please contact us to receive our full pricing list. We require all our patients to book a consultation with our doctors prior to starting any treatments. We carefully prepare bespoke plans for all our patients and some treatments may be unsuitable for some patients.
Most of our clients find the procedure fairly comfortable and often describe it as a mild stinging sensation. We also use a numbing cream before the procedure to help minimise discomfort.
Whilst Profhilo® is widely used, well-tolerated and very safe, like any treatment, they do carry some risks which can occur. Some of the common and expected sequelae include redness, bumps at injection sites, swelling, bruising, itching or tenderness, discomfort at the injection site, temporary firmness at the injection site (particularly within the first 24 hours) and temporary numbness due to the numbing cream applied. More information about the risks will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation as these vary between individuals.
