Lines and wrinkles develop as collagen and elastin naturally decline with age, often hastened by sun exposure, pollution and skincare habits. In skin of colour, melanin’s natural UV protection means these signs typically appear later. At Dr Mélanin, we treat fine lines and wrinkles with anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, polynucleotides and microneedling, taking extra care to minimise trauma and reduce the risk of pigmentation.

At Dr Mélanin, every journey begins with a thorough consultation. We explore your concerns, review your medical and aesthetic history, and assess your skin under UV light to uncover what isn’t visible to the eye. We take time to understand your heritage and skin’s unique physiology, before recommending a tailored plan. You’ll leave with a detailed summary, skincare advice and samples to support your journey ahead.

A chemical peel uses clinical-grade acids to exfoliate the skin, stimulating renewal and improving texture, tone and clarity. At Dr Mélanin, we treat hyperpigmentation, acne, scarring, large pores and uneven texture, tailoring strength to your skin type and goals. In skin of colour, clinical endpoints are more subtle, so our specialist-trained clinicians monitor closely to ensure safe, effective treatment while minimising the risk of PIH.

Dermal fillers are gel-like, hyaluronic acid-based substances used to restore volume, smooth lines and enhance facial contours, with results visible within 2–3 weeks and lasting 6–12 months or more. At Dr Mélanin, we use fillers to enhance, never override, your natural features, restoring structure first so lines soften indirectly for a more harmonious result. In skin of colour, careful technique helps ensure safe, natural-looking outcomes with minimal risk of complications.

Our Korean facials deeply cleanse, exfoliate and nourish the skin, unclogging pores, improving circulation, and leaving skin refreshed and glowing. At Dr Mélanin, we use products specifically formulated for skin of colour, gentle yet effective, to minimise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. They can be tailored to a range of concerns, including dullness, congestion, dehydration and uneven tone, with regular sessions offering the most visible, long-lasting results.

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries, stimulating natural healing and encouraging collagen production. This improves skin texture, firmness and elasticity, while reducing fine lines, acne scarring and enlarged pores. At Dr Mélanin, we use the SkinPen® device, proven safe across all skin tones. In skin of colour, clinical endpoints are more subtle, so our specialist-trained clinicians monitor closely to achieve effective results while avoiding overtreatment.

Polynucleotide therapy is a bioregenerative injectable treatment that stimulates fibroblasts, collagen and elastin to promote deep skin repair, hydration and renewal at a molecular level. Derived from ultra-purified salmon DNA, it’s biocompatible and well-tolerated, improving texture, tone, fine lines and dullness. At Dr Mélanin, we take particular care in skin of colour, where clinical endpoints are more subtle, ensuring effective results while minimising the risk of overtreatment.

Profhilo® is an injectable bioremodelling treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available, hydrating the skin and stimulating collagen and elastin without adding volume. Thermally stabilised rather than chemically cross-linked, it remains active in the skin for around 28 days, gradually improving firmness, elasticity and glow. At Dr Mélanin, we tailor treatment to skin tone and type to ensure safe, effective results.

At Dr Mélanin, skincare is the foundation of every treatment plan, not an optional extra. The condition of your skin directly affects safety, comfort and results, so we assess it thoroughly, including under UV light, before recommending a personalised routine. Skin of colour follows the same biological principles as any other skin, though it can be more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, requiring careful product choice and pacing.
